MC2 8 x 16 Audio Distribution Amplifier Information.

Mid Continent Controls offers a 8x16 Audio Distribution Amplifier with 8 stereo, plus mono PA inputs, and 16 stereo outputs. Our module can be configured for use with any number of inputs between one and eight stereo input sources. Any number of outputs from one to sixteen can be used. Both left and right inputs for all stereo inputs as well as the mono PA input have trim controls to allow the input levels to be adjusted. This will provide a constant volume level when switching between stereo sources as well as when PA audio is active. Each of the sixteen outputs has three status outputs that are used by the switch panels to indicate which of the input channels are selected. All stereo inputs are equipped with 10k-ohm impedance audio coupling transformers.

TThe PA input is a 600-ohm impedance audio coupling transformer. All connections are made via 5 DSUB connectors mounted on the module. The MC2 audio amplifier has both a PA and chime input control lines. Whenever the PA control line is active, the PA audio is routed to all outputs. The chime input is usually activated through a toggle switch. Whenever the chime line first becomes active, all outputs are muted for a period of approximately 3 seconds. This allows the chime to be heard. After the delay, the outputs are returned back to the original settings.
