Experience: At least 1 year experience in electronic assembly involving soldering through hole and surface mount parts, or related field is required. Employee is expected to acquire the necessary information and skills to perform the job reasonably well within 90 days in the position.
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
Skills: Skills expected include demonstrated soldering skills, including through hole and surface mount. Ability to read engineering blueprints and manufacturing documentation. Excellent knowledge of electronic assembly. Ability to perform self-inspection of work visually and using microscope. Working knowledge of microscopes, oscilloscopes, and miscellaneous test equipment. No computer skills necessary, but preferred.
Certificates and Licenses: Soldering certification in both surface mount and through hole preferred.
Problem Solving: No problem solving is required in this position.
Decision Making: Limited decision making is required in this position. Decisions are made when completing self-inspection of the quality of the soldering that occurred.
Financial Accountability: Employee is responsible for the safe use of departmental equipment. Employee is not involved in the authorization of departmental expenditures.
Personal Relations: Employee has frequent contact with other employees and departments.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, employee is exposed to loud noise occasionally when in grinding room. Employee could be exposed to fumes when coating PCB boards.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to assemble our products. The employee can be required to occasionally lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds approximately 5% of the time. Specific vision abilities required by the position include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to touch/feel and be able to work with very small parts. Ability to read and interpret manufacturing documentation and correspondence and the ability to write simple correspondence is required. The ability to read and interpret engineering documentation is required. This employee must also be able to effectively discuss information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees.
Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Production Manager, the Electronic Sub Assembler performs manual work pertaining to the manufacture of our company products. This employee is responsible for the sub assembly of our product by soldering components onto printed circuit boards.
